Department at a Glance

The Department of Commerce is one of the pioneer departments of Govt. Gajanand Agrawal Post Graduate College, Bhatapara which came into existence in the year 1964 with Bachelor Degree course. The department offers  Master of Commerce degrees since 1975.Graduate course runs as yearly basis and Post Graduate Course runs as per semester basis. Currently, the curriculum of Pandit Ravishankar Shukla University, Raipur is followed for all courses. The Department takes pride in its commendable performance vis-à-vis major developmental indicators such as Student Intake ,Number of Teachers, Student’s Success Rate etc. Almost from the very beginning, the department has been utilizing the services of a number of part time faculty members drawn from various academic institutions. At present, it has Four full time faculties and One part time faculty member.

To be a department of academic excellence with a commitment of quality education in Commerce .

 

Mission:

To provide a good and strong conceptual knowledge of core subjects of Commerce.

To prepare the students for higher education in Commerce and Business.

To develop innovative thinking and research aptitude in students.

To develop a competitive environment among students.

To inspire the students to become innovative Leaders and Managers.

To inculcate the use of information and communication technology in teaching and learning process.
